National Law Enforcement Academy

The National Law Enforcement Academy (NLEA) at College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, offers high quality training programs to meet the needs of law enforcement officers and is at the forefront of web-based opportunities for training. NLEA is dedicated to providing the highest standard of education and training to law enforcement personnel at all levels.

NLEA is an integral part of the new state-of-the-art Homeland Security Education Center (HEC), the first nonmilitary municipal immersive training facility in the country. The HEC opened at the College of DuPage in the Fall of 2011. View HEC building project details.

NLEA will offer educational opportunities in conjunction with the Suburban Law Enforcement Academy (SLEA). Programs offered through SLEA include the Basic Police Recruit Academy as well as over one hundred Continuing Education programs organized around such key themes as the development of effective leadership for police agencies, cyber-crime, and tactical training to be carried out in a multi-disciplinary immersive training environment.
